I have been collaborating with Artist, Andy Parsons to create a body of 3D printed sculptures that will feature in the "Creative Caring" exhibition at Roscommon Art Centre May 2024.
The set of works aim to redefine sculpture into something that is able to be handled. this is done so that residents in care homes can use the sculptures as a tactile objects.
this gives us a new and interesting way of conveying art, using 3d scanning, adjustment and 3D printing we can give the artists objects that arent materially valuable so there is no worry about them being damaged yet still being able to give the tactile elements.

another unforseen benefit to the 3D replication process is some of the interesting artifacting from the 3d printing process, this lends to the overall decommodification of the art.
